Turn your android 2.2+ phone into an ICS looking device using Hololauncher

Even though there are only very few number of devices present in market which are running on android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, its very popular and cool looking version of android. Everyone wanted to use this because of its more simplicity and all the high tech stuff present in it.

But everyone knows that majority of the android phones used by people all over the world is running on android 2.3 gingerbread. Also there are people still using 2.2 froyo even though it can be updated to 2.3.

ICS update is available for some high end devices like samsung galaxy s2 in which users can download the latest update and make their device look more cool. But unfortunately, most gingerbread devices does not supports ICS update because of hardware limitations. So the only way  to make those phones look like ICS is to install launcher applications.

Here i am introducing the HoloLauncher applications which helps to transform any android phone to an ICS device.
Features we like:
  • Real ICS looking homescreen
  • Very fast loading. There is no lags at all.
  • Latest ICS google search bar
  • ICS looking icons
  • Direct app info by long taping on icon from home screen
  • Option to rename apps
  • Bottom bar can be customized

5 Tips to increase your android phone's battery without using any applications

Battery draining is one big problem for every android device. Todays mobile phones comes with high processor power, RAM etc. So it needs more battery to stay on the line. Every android user wants their phone to perform for a very long time. But some people may not want to use any applications to do that.  It can be achieve by following the tips that i have given here. None of these tips requires any applications to be installed on your device so that you can save some space in your phone. The screenshot i have used in this article is HTC Explorer's.

#1.Change the power mode to economy and turn on sleep mode function

Go to your phones settings>power>power mode and select Economy from there. Next step is to turn on the battery saver which is the next option in the screen. Also enable sleep mode from the same power settings page so that your device will consume very few power while you are asleep.

#2.Set low brightness for your screen

You don't want your device's display to be bright as much as it can be because that much high brightness is not required for normal use. Always set your phone  in a low brightness mode so that very less power will be consumed for powering up your display. Also, disabling the automatic brightness option will give you a little bit more battery because the light sensors present in your device does not have to work when this option is disabled. Also set the screen time out for a less value.

#3.Turn off auto-rotation

Turn off your phone's auto-rotation feature so that the sensors which helps in rotating your screen to landscape and portrait mode does not have to stay online and keep working. In this way you will get more battery back up

#4.Turn off all connectivity features if your are not using it

The connectivity features present in your phone like Bluetooth, WiFi, and of course the GPS is gonna suck your battery juice. So turn off all these while you are not using it. Especially in the case of GPS. It is the most battery consuming task to locate your device in the map with the help of satellites. Also using your phone to connect to internet via 3G or 2G network is battery consuming process. The communication with the mobile tower for a long time, which is located at a large distance will empty your battery in a matter of hours. So if you are in range of a WiFi network, i suggest you use the WiFi other that using the service provider's internet connection.

#5. Kill unwanted processes using task manager

Every android phone comes with a built in task manager which helps you in managing running and installed applications. To save your battery, you have to make sure that there are no processes running in the background. You might have left this unnoticed and these applications that are running in background will cause fast battery discharging. So to fix this problem, frequently open up the task manager and end all the processes that are running in background. This helps in getting more space in RAM and saves your battery. So its a double benefit tip.

Feel free to share and comment your thought about these tips. We will be in touch.
